Levin sits outside the Kāpiti Coast district, so the travel charge is a little higher than the local rate. The onsite hourly rate is the same as everywhere else, and Levin is a regular part of our run rather than an exception.
In the town itself, most of the work is straightforward residential and small business support: computers that have become unreliable, drives that have failed and taken years of photos with them, and small offices where several machines and a shared printer need to keep talking to each other.
Outside the town boundary the picture is more like Ōtaki. Lifestyle blocks and farms across the Horowhenua often depend on fixed wireless or satellite rather than fibre, and the distances involved mean Wi-Fi has to be designed rather than just plugged in. Backups matter more out here too, simply because help is further away when something fails.
