Ongoing IT Support & Managed IT Services

Annual management plans and the Tech WoF, from Porirua to Levin.

Most small businesses do not need a tech department, and plenty do not need a full time person either. What they need is a local IT technician who can manage their devices and services, keep an eye on them between visits, and be there remotely or onsite when something goes down. That is what these plans are.

The same applies at home. Device longevity can be increased dramatically by an annual Tech WoF and proper software optimisation: most computers get replaced because they became slow and unreliable, not because anything actually broke. Reversing that costs far less than a new machine.

Management Options

Three annual plans, priced per device. Every one of them includes an annual Windows or macOS health check, the Tech WoF, along with remote management software and comprehensive antivirus.

  • Basic

$14.92 per device, per month, billed annually ($179)
    • Remote management software: hardware and installed software reporting, managed updates, and remote assistance when required
    • Comprehensive antivirus
    • Microsoft 365 Basic web apps configuration, with enterprise email software setup
    • 100GB cloud backup data security
    • Annual health check: remote Windows or macOS check of up to one hour per device, including personal workflow assistance
    Start Basic
  • Professional

$41.58 per device, per month, billed annually ($499)
    • Remote management software: hardware and installed software reporting, managed updates, and remote assistance
    • Comprehensive antivirus
    • Microsoft 365 Personal, with OneDrive configured and 1TB
    • Priority support and faster response times
    • Account security review, confirming best security practices are being followed
    • Annual comprehensive audit, with a written summary of problems found and recommended upgrades or replacements
    • Annual health check: in person Windows or macOS check of up to one hour per device, including personal workflow assistance and a physical interior clean where possible
    Start Professional

Plans cover one device each. If you have several machines at home or in the office, get in touch and we will price the group. Repairs and hardware are separate and always quoted first: see computer repairs.

What Happens In a Tech WoF

Think of it like a Warrant of Fitness. We go through the device step by step until it is clean, secure and comfortable to use, then keep it that way for the rest of the year.

Step 1 – Backup & safety first

Before we change anything important we check what backups you already have and make sure your documents, photos and email are safe. Nothing else starts until that is true.

Step 2 – Security & antivirus

We install comprehensive antivirus and scan for anything already on the machine. We review your browser, email and system security settings, and add an ad and tracker blocker, which removes a surprising share of the ways malware arrives in the first place.

Step 3 – Cloud storage & backup

We set up cloud storage and confirm it is actually syncing, not just installed. Basic includes 100GB; Standard and Professional include 1TB of OneDrive through Microsoft 365 Personal, which is enough for most people's entire photo library.

Step 4 – Updates & optimisation

We look for what is slowing you down: startup programs, background apps, old toolbars, trial software and other clutter. We apply outstanding operating system and application updates and tune performance settings without breaking the way you work. This is the step that buys most machines their extra years.

Step 5 – Personal workflow assistance

Part of the hour goes on how you actually use the machine rather than just on the machine itself: the file layout that keeps losing things, the app that would save you twenty minutes a day, the setting nobody ever showed you. Small changes here compound.

Step 6 – Monitoring & handover

We walk you through what we found, what we fixed and what we recommend next, in normal language rather than jargon. The remote management agent stays running afterwards, so drive failures, failed backups and lapsed antivirus reach us before they reach you.

IT Support for Small Businesses

For a small business, IT problems are not an inconvenience, they are lost working hours. A plan means faults get spotted before they stop someone working, protection cannot quietly lapse on the machine nobody checks, and work lives somewhere a failed laptop cannot take it with it.

We support businesses across Porirua, Paraparaumu, Waikanae, Ōtaki and Levin. No account managers and no ticket queue: you call, and you get the person who knows your systems.

Support Options & Pricing

Two ways to work with us. Most people use both: an annual plan for the routine maintenance, and hourly work for anything that comes up on top of it.

  • Pay as you go

    Hourly quoted before work starts
    • Call us only when something breaks
    • Onsite anywhere from Porirua to Levin
    • Remote support with no travel charge
    • Nothing to sign up to

Ongoing Support Questions

What is a Tech WoF?

It is an annual health check for your computer, in the same spirit as a Warrant of Fitness for your car. We go through the machine step by step: check the backups, remove what is slowing it down, apply updates, scan for malware, review security settings and explain what we found in plain English. Every management plan includes one.

Will a health check really make my computer last longer?

Yes, noticeably. Most machines are retired because they became slow, cluttered and unreliable rather than because anything actually broke. An annual clean-up, an operating system and driver update, and software optimisation reverse most of that, and it is common to get several extra years out of a computer that felt ready for replacement.

What is remote management software?

A lightweight agent we install with your permission. It reports hardware details and installed software, lets us manage and apply updates centrally, and gives us a way to provide remote assistance without you having to set anything up when something goes wrong. It watches the things that fail quietly, such as drive health warnings, failed backups and antivirus that has stopped updating.

Can I use a plan for more than one computer?

Each plan covers a single device. If you have several machines at home or in the office, get in touch and we will put together a price for the group.

Can you help remotely, or do you have to visit?

Both. Software faults, email problems, account issues and most configuration work can be handled through a secure remote session, with no travel fee. Hardware faults and network problems normally need an onsite visit.
